Bakers Creek Park is an active community park in Kannapolis, NC. The park is 40 acres and is open daily, though hours change from season to season during the year. Picnic shelters are available. Three large covered picnic shelters with seating capacities of 80-120 include electricity, water, and grills and are available for rent. Bakers Creek Park also offers a small covered shelter for groups of 20 or less with a grill only.
Picnic sites, uncovered, are also available at Bakers Creek Park. These small uncovered picnic sites have tables and grills available and are recommended for smaller groups to use. These can be reserved or simply used on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Bakers Creek Park also is home to a large playground and a miniature golf course, which costs $1 per person, per game. Children under the age of five can play on the miniature golf course for no charge. The miniature golf course is only open when the concession stand is open, which is generally during the following hours:
Spring, Summer and Fall (Mid-March to Late October) Monday-Friday 5:30PM -- 8:30PM
Do notice that the Parks and Recreation Department reserves the full right to close the concessions and the miniature golf course without notice. Please also be aware that the concessions and miniature golf course will be closed during time of inclement weather.
Bakers Creek Park also is home to four lighted tennis courts which are available for public use. There is no charge for use during daylight hours but $1 per person per court for advanced reservations and/or lights. Tennis equipment is available at the park for a small charge. Horseshoe pits and sand volleyball courts are also available for public use at the park. The lower volleyball court is open to the public at all times for no charge and on a first-come, first-serve basis. The upper court is for use by people renting the adjacent picnic shelter. For the half basketball court, sports equipment may be rented for $1 per hour at the concession stand, though a valid photo ID is required. The park also houses a lighted 280' softball field that can be reserved.
The Bakers Creek Greenway is an asphalt walking path that snakes its way from the NC Research Campus to Village Park. Most of this length is the Bakers Creek Greenway, though the 8th Street Greenway makes up a smaller portion of it.
Restrooms and concessions are available at Bakers Creek Park. Restrooms are open during park hours and concessions are open in the evenings and on weekends during the spring, summer, and fall.
